Hi,

I am unable to connect my Littlebits Cloudbit to the 2.4 WiFi. I believe the Cloudbit requires port 9480 to be opened. They have a tool run from a browser which tests if the port is open, it fails this so I assume the port is not open. I have tried to put an entry into the Virtual Servers area for this port and the relevant IP address, but have had no success. Am I missing something?

Apologies, I have little technical knowledge when it comes to port forwarding etc, any help gratefully received.

This has now been resolved - got a firmware update for the Cloudbit which does not require the port.

Here are instructions to get the firmware:

Hi,

I contacted Littlebits support. They sent me a link to a website from which to download the firmware. Here is the link they sent me:

Plus these instructions:
Instructions for Ubuntu:
Unzip file
load 4G SD card into Ubuntu 14.10 box
select Applications->System Tools->Perferences->Disks
select the 4G device
select Restore Image from the menu
wait till image restored, select eject from menu
load card into cloudbits
Instructions for a Windows machine:
I suggest using Win32DiskImager. They have pretty detailed instructions in the download on how to use the program.
Instructions for a Mac:
There is a good setup guide here: https://alltheware.wordpress.com/2012/12/11/easiest-way-sd-card-setup/. It involves using a simple freeware program that is primarily used for Raspberry Pi users.
