Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have a number of sites configured that we want to offer a captive portal through, with a custom authentication scheme.

So the External Portal Server seems the ideal way to achieve this. I've been following the documentation at API and Code Sample for External Portal Server (Omada Controller 5.0.15 or above) | TP-Link United Kingdom but keep getting an empty reply from the server at stage #10, "Log in to the Omada Controller".

I'm suspecting that I have the wrong URL, and have tried to work my way through the list here - Omada Cloud’s domain names | TP-Link United Kingdom - but with no success. I've also been running around the Omada Central Plane trying to find a controller URL, with no success.

I can see the inform URL which looks like this: omada://euw1-omada-essential-device.tplinkcloud.com?dPort=29810&mPort=443&omadacId={some-hex}

To be clear, this is all on Omada Cloud Essentials, so the basic tier... not sure whether that could be the problem.

  @Vincent-TP Thanks so much for the response.

OK - that makes sense per this document: Omada Cloud Essentials | Omada Cloud Essentials, which also states that the only portal authentication offered in Cloud Essentials is "Simple Password / Voucher / Form Auth"

I think, then, that there's a problem in the Cloud Essentials interface in that it is offering me "External Portal Server" as an option frown

cloud essentials portal

OK - off to see how to buy the Standard Edition and retry - at least it doesn't seem particularly expensive.
