Hi there,

I am facing a strange problem. Just configured a RE200, repeating both 2.4/5 GHz from a TPLINK 750N ( TPLINK TL-WDR4300 v1) running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/25/13) std (SVN revision 21061).

It is working... I am able to connect mobile devices to it and they access the internet without problems. Things start to get odd when I try to connect a cellphone where I use OpenVPN. The OpenVPN client won´t connect at all if I am connected to the RE200. It´s almost like if the RE200 is blocking port 53.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

If you turn off RE200 and connect to the main router directly, the OpenVPN client can connect?
Are you using static IP or dynamic IP on web interface of RE200?

Hi there,

Yes, while connected to the main AP, OpenVPN connects successfully. RE200 is using a static IP config, valid in my subnet. I have two DHCP servers in that subnet, providing IP configuration, including DNS servers also in the same subnet.

The main AP is working in dumb / bridge mode (layer 2).

You may contact TP-LINK support team with the topology.

RE200 won't check the port, it is a device that works at layer two (Data Link Layer) of the OSI model.
