Hi all

After investigating more into my new router, I've found that it doesn't actually have everything I was after. It is sold as WiFi 7 (I was really only after 6E), and while it does have some WiFi 7 features, it also lacks some 6E/7 features, such as 6 Ghz band.

I have a Quest 3 VR headset I'm trying to support and a lot of advice is to connect to a 6 Ghz band for ultimate performance.

So while the BE400 does not have 6 Ghz, can I add it? The router has a USB 3.0 port and I found this: TP-Link AXE5400 Wi-Fi 6E High Gain Wireless USB Adapter. Which provides 6E connection.Reviews I've seen have been in relation to the most common scenario, which is using it as 'input' for a laptop/PC. Can it also be used as output, such as connection to the router USB 3.0 port?

Thank you in advance

BE400 is an entry level Wi-Fi 7 router and its hardware doesn't support 6GHz band - technical specs.

You can't use a USB network adapter either, because its USB doesn't support it - check the specs above.

You need a tri-band BE series router that supports 6GHz band from this list
