Model: TL-SG105E
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version:

I would like to know what type of connecting cable I need to connect the Smart Switch to my Vodaphone Hub, which only has 3 ports on it , which is why I've bought the TP link smart switch. I want to get the maximum speed available (and not lose any speed through the patch connection and cable connections) - but the installation guide only provides info for cat  5 cables? Will it also take a Cat 6 patch cable (or cat 7)?

I want to use cat 6 cable from now on, as cat 5 is old and I want to upgrade from that. If I connect  the smart switch using cat 5, I am worried that will will limit what speeds I get from anything connected to the switch, so I want to be sure I can use eg cat 7. The vodaphone hub promises speeds of 910.00 Mbps (download and upload).

CAT5e or above. CAT7 is not necessary. These CATs can support gigabit speed pretty solid.

If you need a more reliable connection, anything above CAT6 is not necessary. Consider the fiber instead. CAT7 does not bring any improvement to a regular network, and you can save a lot of money with the CAT6 or 5e for a home setup.
