Mesh data speeds drop, considering separate SSIDs
Hello,
I finally switched to deco mesh., but having some data speed issues which are very drastic. Here's my set up and situation.
3 storey brick concrete house. Ethernet cables from ISP/building sent to living room, 2nd floor and 3 floor. But there is no central switch or network box I can access (long story so let's just say accessing that it not an option).
I used to have three different wifi networks (3 different SSIDs), and hated the dead spots and weak signal. Was using ISP provided routers.
Using DecoM4., three units, created one seamless mesh., signal strength is great across., but internet speed drops to 30-40Mbps (vs 600-700 when near Deco's).
It's concrete and I don't own the unit and living here for 2 more years so cannot run cat cables. I thought about powerlkne to backhaul the mesh., but it's a rather older house so I suspect wiring will be old., and it won't make a huge difference.
thinking of going back to using deco's or TP routers abd runing three separate wifi networks.
I am on 1GB plan., but ISP only guarantees 500 MBPS., which they do so - it's a nation wide policy across all ISPs so nothing to do there also.
Do I have any other options?
I was so thrilled with the mesh when I had strong wifi signals and all the controls - esp parental controls etc etc via the app., quite bummed that I have to go back to what I had., but perhaps using TP units vs ISPs hardware which was just crap!
thanks in advance
