Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.4 Build 220325 Rel. 58214

My neighbour has his router/access point right next to the party wall, set to channel 36 with a bandwidth of 80MHz, so it covers all of the non DFS channels. The signal is very strong, much stronger than my EAP610. This means I have to use the DFS channels. The problem is, the EAP610 keeps switching to the same channel as next door. I have never experienced this before when using the isp supplied super hub, my Draytek AC modem router, or a Netgear tri band modem router. Is there anything that can be done without replacing the EAP610?

It seems your channel selection options are quite limited. You may have to either tolerate signal interference or use a narrower channel bandwidth.

Additionally, I noticed the EAP firmware isn’t up to date. I recommend upgrading it to see if wireless performance improves.

How do I upgrade the firmware of my EAP device via web browser?

 

Or,  Would it be possible to talk to your neighbor about reducing their WiFi transmission power? This may reduce the interference.

I would manually set the EAP610 to channel 48 to see how it performs.

  @jra11500 Unfortunately, with most stations using 80MHz, and even some stations using160MHz bandwidth, channel 48 is the same as channel 36.  There are no free channels that aren't DFS, but than you for the reply.
