TP-link AC1200 C5 - WAP slave, Default gateway question

Hi Forum,
I have a TP AC1200 C5 and would like to setup as a slave router on my existing network. As i understand:
Connect LAN1 to LAN port on existing
Turn DHCP off
Set AC1200 ip address to Lan address (static preferred) example 192.168.1.253
Set Default gateway (LAN system route) to existing gateway, example 192.168.1.254
Use DHCP on existing to provide IP addressing
issue: I cannot for the life of me find how to set the default gateway on the AC1200, I can see in advanced routing to add a now route but i can't add another route for the existing network 192.168.1/24 ... where the heck do i find this?
