Deco X55 Hardware Version 1.3.0 - New or Old?
Deco X55 Hardware Version 1.3.0 - New or Old?
Quick question:
Is the X55 hardware version 1.30 a newer hardware version or older version? From what I seem to read in the forum, 1.30 = v1, and as it has 2 digits after the decimal, it is newer than 1.6, 1.8, 1.26, 1.28, etc..
Considering I just purchased them about a month ago from the TP-Link store on Amazon, hoping they are the latest.
Thx...IanQ

Hi,Normally Vx.0=Vx.6/Vx.8 (eg:V1.0=V1.6/V1.8); Vx.x0=Vx.x6/Vx.x8 (eg:V1.20=V1.26/V1.28)
In other words, you have 4* Deco X50 V1 and 1*Deco X50 V1.2.

How so in being unlucky? Should I return them?
As a note, I bought in Canada, not sure the hardware version differs for Canada versus the U.S.

@IanQ US and Canada have the same firmware but the model has been released under different names.

With deco routers a higher hardware version = the newest hardware however, the older hardware version would have more firmware updates so they would have more options than the newer hardware versions.
Example my deco's are XE75 pro HW V2 so my decos are on firmware platform 1.7.0 & 1.8.0 as shown in the chart below.
Now deco's that are XE75 pro HW V1 which has been out the longest is on firmware platform 1.10.0. So HW V1 have options from platform version 1.9.0 and 1.10.0 while my V2 units are missing these options till firmware is released to add these options to my HW V2 - You can see the chart below to see what my deco HW V2 are missing compared to the HW V1
So newer hardware isn't always better

Are you asking when there will be new firmware? Or what platform is the X50 HW 1.30 is on?
As for firmware I have no idea when they will release new firmware for the X50 HW 1.30 as I do not work for them I just help out.
If you were curious what firmware platform the X50 HW 1.30 is I would need the firmware version to find that out

Thanks for the info, still think I am a little confused.
On the bottom of my X55 it states Ver: 1.30 (not 1.3.0 as the subject states). I assume this is the hardware version.
For firmware, the X55 is on 1.2.10, which is the latest foir my X55's according to the Deco app.
On your charts, which show X50/X55 info, neither my hardware version or firmware version is mentioned.
Is there a place/post that would direct me to the versions I should be expecting to see?
Thx...Ian

So we would use your firmware verson to read the chart. Here is a link to the full chart https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/631936
Using the "Specific Firmware Versions" column we will look for your firmware version which you said is 1.2.10 so look for 1.2.x
So your X55 are on hardware platform 1.7.0 & 1.8.0
Now there are some X55 decos that have a much older hardware version than yours and since they have been out longer they are on platform version 1.12.0 so there firmware has way more options than yours
Hoped that helped

Okay I understand...kind of!
So older routers may have more features than newer routers, which is a first for me, never seen that before.
I care more about reliability than features so as long as bugfixes get added to my router's firmware I would be content.
Thanks for the link to the charts, that I will keep handy.
