Archer C5: can't get wired gigabit speeds

Hi all,
I have an Archer C5 v1.2 running the latest firmware. I have connected a Linux PC via Cat6 and a laptop (Dell M3800) via either wired Cat6 or Wireless AC. I *cannot* get more than 100Mbit/s with iperf3 between the 2 systems no matter what I try. Both systems show clearly that they are connected at 1000mbit/s (output of ethtool on the linux side, regular dialog boxes on the windows side). But transfer speed as measured by iperf3 doesn't get higher than 100mbit/s (when both systems are connected via cable) or 80mbit/s (when the laptop is connected via wireless).
The Linux PC is running Mint 17.2, kernel 3.19.0. It has the following network controller:
RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller
I've tested with the default driver that comes with Linux Mint 17.2/kernel 3.19 (which is the r8169 driver btw), but also with the driver downloaded and compiled from the Realtek web site.
On the windows side:
Dell M3800, Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 for wireless, a USB3 dongle for wired (which *can* get gigabit speeds btw, tested this in the office), Windows 7 Professional SP1.
There is one other device connected to the Archer C5, which is an IPTV settop box, connected at 100Mbit/s.
Is there any way to check from the router side why I'm not able to get full gigabit speed between 2 wired devices?
Maarten
