Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I currently have 9 Decos spread across the house and garage with a mix of M4r, E4r and S4, as I live in a house built in 1815 the walls are super thick and very long with various extentsions etc.

I was looking to upgrade to maybe a newer set and with 1gb fibre coming next year where i am on 4g currently whats the best solution, I was thinking of a 3 pack however will these newer units give me better coverage?

I know wi-fi 6 will help me a lot but that's not the main consideration but just better coverage with fewer devices, or am I better off sticking with what i have or even in the few locations where speed is not an issue like the garage keep back a S4 for that?

I was looking at the X50/X60/X1500, I dont mind spending on these they will give me a wider coverage.

Hi, I think upgrading to a newer Deco WiFi-6 mesh set like X50/X60 (3-pack) can give you much better coverage, especially in a thick-walled house. The newer units have better radios, more capacity, and are more efficient than the older M4/E4/S4. That said, it won’t magically fix everything - placement matters a lot, and in spots like the garage that are far or separated, keeping one of your S4s just to “fill in” might make sense. If you can connect some of the new units by Ethernet for backhaul, you’ll really feel the difference and get close to full 1 Gbps speeds
