Model: EAP623-Outdoor HD
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi everyone,

I just happened to notice that the EAP623-Outdoor HD is now marked as “End-of-Life” and I’m a bit concerned about what that actually means. Especially since the EAP625-Outdoor HD is still available, and the only obvious difference seems to be the external antennas.

If I’m correct, the EAP623-Outdoor HD was only released mid-2024, so that’s just about 1.5 years. I really hope this designation only affects sales and doesn’t mean the devices will stop receiving updates.

If “End-of-Life” does indeed mean no more firmware updates, I would seriously consider looking at other manufacturers.

Has anyone here experienced this or can give an idea of how strictly this EOL is enforced by this manufacturer?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Thanks for posting here.

TP-Link will provide information about upcoming EOS dates and migration options on TP-Link's website. TP-Link may also send notifications through the TP-Link Notification Service. When a product reaches its EOS date, TP-Link will not accept new orders for that product.

In one word, it doesn't mean there will be no firmware update or other kinds of maintenance, just not accept new orders.

Below is a link for EOL policy:
