I have those MESH inside house and a CPE outside. But the signal on the camera about a 10 meter away is not adequate to run the wifi camera seamlessly.

How to do it

Okay, I understand that you have a Deco Mesh system inside your house and a CPE (outdoor device) outside, but the Wi-Fi signal at your camera, which is about 10 meters away, is not strong enough for seamless operation.

To improve the Wi-Fi coverage and performance for your camera, please consider the following steps:

1. Placement of Deco Units:
• Place Deco units in open areas, not inside cabinets, shelves, or corners. This helps maximize signal strength.
• Avoid placing Deco units near large metal objects, as metal can block or interfere with wireless signals.
• Keep Deco units away from Bluetooth devices, cordless phones, or soundbars, which can cause interference on the 2.4GHz/5GHz bands.
• Position Deco units at about desk or table height, rather than on the floor or near the ceiling.

2. Check Signal Strength:
• Use the Deco app to check the backhaul signal strength of your satellite Deco units. A 2-bar signal is generally acceptable. If you see only 1 bar, move the satellite closer to the main Deco or another satellite unit.

3. Optimal Distance Between Units:
• Do not place Deco units too close together (such as in the same room or adjacent rooms). Typically, one Deco unit can cover 1-3 rooms. For outdoor coverage, try to position a Deco unit as close as possible to the area where your camera is installed, while still maintaining a strong connection to the rest of your mesh network.

4. Additional Steps:
• If coverage is still insufficient, consider adding more Deco units to expand the wireless coverage to the outdoor area.
• You may also contact TP-Link support and provide your house layout plan for more tailored suggestions.

By following these steps, you should be able to improve the Wi-Fi signal for your camera and achieve more reliable connectivity.
