Model: Deco BE85
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

It is not difficult to set up a guest network on the BE85, but when i do so, my guests are able to see all other devices in my network and are able to connect to other devices using IP-adresses. That is not safe. How can i prevent that. I use the BE85 as an accespoint.

Thank you for your input.

Okay, I understand that you are using your Deco Mesh system as an access point and have set up a guest network, but you noticed that guests can still see and access other devices on your main network, which is a security concern.

When the Deco Mesh is operating in Access Point mode, by default, guest network devices are isolated from your main network. However, there is an option that allows you to control whether guest devices can access your main network:

To ensure guest devices are isolated:
1. Open the Deco app and go to MORE > Guest Network.
2. Enable the guest network if you haven’t already.
3. In Access Point mode, look for the option that controls guest access to your main network. Make sure the setting "Allow guest devices to access your main network" is disabled (it is disabled by default).

If you do not see this option, please ensure your Deco system is running the latest firmware. You can check for updates in the Deco app under System > Firmware Update.

Note: In Router mode, the guest network is always isolated from the main network and cannot be changed.

For more detailed instructions, please refer to https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1460/.

If you have already disabled guest access to the main network and guests can still see your devices, please let us know so we can investigate further.
