Model: Deco X55
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.10 Build 20241105 Rel. 40010

I'm installing these devices in an existing network with servers and an existing IP range, 192.168.1.x/24

The DHCP server does not let me change the IP range to match my existing network. Using the provided network access existing devices with static IP devices.

How do I change the DHCP range to match my existing network? It appears the routers are meant for new or only DHCP only networks????

Also, once enabled, attempts to turn the DHCP server off crash the app.

[Where do I find the Hardware Version? I don't see it on the packaging; it does not show in the app.]

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you want to set up your Deco Mesh system to use your existing network's IP range (192.168.1.x/24), so your devices with static IPs and servers can communicate properly. You are also having trouble matching the DHCP range and disabling the DHCP server.

Here's what you need to know and do:

1. Changing the LAN IP Address:
   • Open the Deco app and go to MORE > Advanced > LAN IP.
   • Set your desired LAN IP address and subnet mask (for example, 192.168.1.1/24), then save the settings.
   • The DHCP server's IP pool will automatically update to match the new LAN IP range.

2. Important Note:
   • If the Deco's WAN (internet) interface receives an IP address that falls within the same range as your configured LAN (for example, both are 192.168.1.x), Deco will automatically change its LAN IP address to avoid conflicts. This is because the router cannot have its WAN and LAN in the same subnet, as it would cause network issues.
   • If you want Deco to use the 192.168.1.x range, make sure your main internet router/modem is using a different subnet, or set Deco to Access Point mode.

3. About the DHCP Server:
   • In Router mode, Deco's DHCP server cannot be disabled. If you need to use your own DHCP server, please switch Deco to Access Point mode. In Access Point mode, Deco will use your existing router's DHCP server, and your static IP devices will work as expected.

4. For more details, please refer to this FAQ: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2331/

Regarding the Hardware Version:
• The hardware version is usually printed on the product label on the bottom of the Deco unit itself. It may not appear on the packaging or in the app. Please check the bottom of your Deco device for a label that includes the hardware version (e.g., "Ver: 1.0").

If you need further assistance or run into issues, please let us know more about your network setup, and we'll be happy to help.

  @HelpFixDecoApp

Thanks, I was looking in the wrong place. It's resolved now.

I checked the router, and there is no version number on the bottom.

You can also log into the web ui to find your hardware version if its not on the bottom/back of your deco units
