Model: Deco X10
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20250306

I have an existing x10 with 3 decos. I'm moving to a new house and can I just take one of the decos to setup the wifi at our new home, then add the other two after we move in?

Okay, I understand that you are moving to a new house and want to know if you can take just one of your Deco Mesh units to set up Wi-Fi at your new home, and then add the other two units later.

Yes, you can absolutely do this. Here’s how you can proceed:

1. Take any one of your Deco units to your new house and set it up as the main Deco. For most Deco models, all units in the box are identical, so any of them can serve as the main unit. Just connect it to your modem or router at your new location and follow the setup process in the Deco app.

2. Once you have internet working with the main Deco, you can add the other two Deco units as satellites after you move them in. To do this:
• Open the Deco app and tap the "+" icon in the top right corner of the dashboard.
• Select "Add a Deco unit" (please note, you need to be the "Owner" of the network, not just a "Manager," to see this option).
• Follow the in-app instructions to add each additional Deco unit to your existing network.

Note: For some Deco models (such as Deco X/XE/BE Series), if the main and satellite Decos are from the same package, the satellite units may automatically join the network within a few minutes after being powered on.

If you have any other questions about moving or setting up your Deco Mesh system, feel free to ask!
