EAP783 LAN2 – Unable to configure VLAN access mode for second port
Hello,
I’m deploying a large-scale Omada infrastructure (controller + TP-Link switches + EAP783(EU) v1.0 access points).
The EAP783 features a second RJ45 port (LAN2), which I intended to use to connect a wired device (e.g. a PC) using a dedicated VLAN (VLAN 54).
However, I cannot find any way in the Omada controller to configure the LAN2 port as an access port for a specific VLAN (untagged). It seems that LAN2 simply mirrors the LAN1 trunk traffic, which includes all VLANs, making it unusable for a basic wired device that expects untagged traffic.
Has anyone successfully configured LAN2 on the EAP783 to act as an access port for a single VLAN?
If not, are there plans to add this feature via firmware update? The second port becomes nearly useless in its current state, which is unfortunate given its hardware capabilities.
I’ve already contacted TP-Link support and was told the port may not be designed like on EAP-Wall models, but they are still checking with engineering whether a firmware update is technically possible.
Any insights, configuration tips or official workaround would be very welcome.
Thanks in advance!
