Is the serial console disabled in TL-WA901ND version 4?

Model : TL-WA901ND

Hardware Version : v4

Firmware Version : 151029

Hello TP-Link,

is the serial console on the WA901ND board (J4) disabled in the latest version 4 of this AP?

I couldn't manage to communicate with the device through a serial adapter, which perfectly worked with previous versions of the TL-WR901ND.

I wanted to look up the low-level settings for repeater mode, since in the web UI the "AP isolation" feature is greyed out, when in repeater mode. But if repeater mode is made up of two virtual 802.11 wifi interfaces (one in AP mode, one in STA mode) internally bridged together, than it theoretically should be possible to use AP isolation on the virtual interface in AP mode, shouldn't it?

I consider the TL-WA901ND as a wireless repeater for hotspots, where AP isolation is a must, since the repeater must only provide wireless access to an Internet gateway, but not to any other wireless clients connected to the gateway's or the repeater's wifi adapter.

Thanks in advance and best wishes!

What I know is that there is no AP isolation feature on the TL-WA901ND for now.

Wrong. In AP mode HW version 4 of the TL-WA901ND has AP isolation (or at least it can be selected in the Web UI, haven't tested it yet, whether it actually works, since I need it in repeater mode):

Update: AP isolation works in AP mode, tested it successfully.

AP Isolation is unavailable in repeater mode.

It is disabled in the Web UI, yes.

But if I use serial console and set AP isolation on ath0 (the AP interface) to "on", AP isolation for clients connected to the TL-WA901ND works even in repeater mode (for testing this, I also changed the SSID of the AP to avoid clients from associating automatically with the master AP, which by default has client isolation turned on, and I made sure by looking at the wireless statistics that clients indeed are connected to the TL-WA901ND during the test):
iwpriv ath0 ap_bridge 0
So the question is why TP-Link did disable this setting in the Web UI for repeater mode.
