Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 6.0

I recently upgraded to Omada 6.x formally released version from the earlier latest 5.x version. Is their AP supported List for Omada 6.x, kindly point me to that resource.

We use a lot EAP 225 V3 (both US and EU versions), few EAP 225 Outdoor V1 (EU Version), few EAP225 Outdoor V3 (US version),  and few EAP 245 v4 (US Version) units. The reason is we did not buy everything at one go but usually few APs get added every few years on our network and we just take what stock the distributor has in India.

I can see EAP225 having new V4/V5 hardware revision. Other EAP models also have upgraded hardware revisions.

Are lower hardware version of EAP225, EAP245 (indoor versions), etc be supported in Omada 6.0. And going forwards in future releases and version 7.x n BY supported, I mean atleast work if not firmware upgrades carrying feature enhancements and bug fixes. I understand due to equipment End-Of-XXX strategy at some stage they will stop getting software upgrades, but the question is whether they will work or not with newer controller releases.

9  years back we bought about 10 nos. of EAP 115 V2 models. They worked with Omada 2.5 which was latest then. When we moved to Omada SDN, the support for these 10 APs were dropped and those APs did not work with Omada SDN. I suppose Only EAP115 V4 is supported now. The EAP hardware we bought still had usable life in it when we upgraded to Omada SDN (and in fact is still going strong), but we had to spawn a new VM with 2.5 version omada non-SDN controller to manage those 10 APs. This Duplication causes WLAN config issues for us and restricts smooth mobility across EAP115 V2 and pother EAPs, which are managed by different controllers.

Hi  @APRC-P3-Tel

Thank you for posting here.

We are pleased to confirm that Omada 6.x maintains full backward compatibility with all EAP models supported in Omada 5.x. This means your current deployments of EAP225 v3 (US/EU), EAP225 Outdoor v1/v3, and EAP245 v4 will continue to work seamlessly with the new controller, including future firmware updates for these models within their respective support lifecycles.

Regarding your concern about long-term support: While older hardware revisions (e.g., EAP115 v2) may eventually reach end-of-support due to technical limitations, Omada 6.x does not introduce any new restrictions for devices already compatible with Omada 5.x. We recommend checking our official EAP support list for detailed lifecycle timelines.

For optimal performance and feature parity, we encourage upgrading to newer hardware revisions where possible, but rest assured your current setup will remain fully functional.

Should you have further questions, don't hesitate to let us know.

@Vincent-TP : Thanks for your prompt input.

Its nice to hear that EAP 245 V4, EAP 225 V3 and EAP225 Outdoor V3 are supported in Omada 6.x as per the compatibility list you shared.

However, their is one odd candidate we have: EAP 225 Outdoor V1. We have 3 units of this and it is presently working with Omada 6.x (adopted, functional, no strange logs/warninsg.etc). But the status of this AP model is not clear in your shared compatibility list. Its neither listed in standalone mode only units [EAP245 V1, EAP225 V2/ V1, EAP115 V2/ V1, EAP110 V2/ V1, and EAP110-Outdoor V1] or in Supported Controller Mode Units (only V3 model is listed which I think means V3cand above).

Hopefully its just a documentation issue and support not officially dropped.

Hi  @APRC-P3-Tel

EAP225-outdoor is included in the Omada compatibility list, without marking any hardware version:

Where did you see the V3 info?

  @Vincent-TP :

Their is a discrepancy in Country wise Compatibility list. I referred to the India/English site and there the EAP-Outdoor is listed with V3 as the version:
