TP Link W8980 Router - Tethering app Compatibility

I am concerned that the tethering app is not compatible with the W8980 router as it is a dual band router and can update to the latest firmware.I hope this message reaches an admin so they can take this into consideration, because there are users out there that own the W8980 router and want full control over their home network in a easy way.Thanks
