Hi,

 

I have an issue with my Deco M4.

As of yesterday it suddenly decided to not connect to the Internet.

It has worked flawlessly since I bought it some years back.

 

It gets an IP assigned, but no Internet.

I contacted my ISP but they couldn't help, other than reset IP assignment. (Which didn't solve the issue)

As it works if I connect my computer directly to the fiber modem, they couldn't help me, but referred me to here.

 

Some things I've tried, none which resolve the issue (obviously):

 

- Power off all other Decos. (Left turned off for the rest of tests)

- Change DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

- Reboot

- Factory reset

- Change Ethernet port on Deco

- Change Ethernet port on fiber modem


Anything that you can think of that would help me?

In the end, i tried:

 

- Power off all other Decos. (Left turned off for the rest of tests)

- Change DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

- Reboot

- Factory reset with button at bottom

- Factory reset from app (leave network)

- Change Ethernet port on Deco

- Change Ethernet port on fiber modem

- Update firmware

- Reset and connect one of the "satellite" devices to the modem instead.

 

In the end, only the last worked. Unfortunately, it also meant all settings were lost, as it was not possible to restore a device from another device' backup.

 

Later I saw the option to replace the main device in the mesh. That might have been an easier way, leaving settings intact.

 

I still don't know why the original device didn't work. It now works fine as part of the mesh.

  @ARGamingPK1 I says ver. 2.0 on the label at the bottom, so I guess it's that?

 

By the way, I took one of the other devices, reset that one and setup the WiFi.

I will try restoring the settings from the other device tomorrow and see if that works.

  @Osau There is a new firmware 1.8.1 for Deco M4 (V2) hardware. You can download from the link below and install it by using Web UI.
