Model: EAP610
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.6.0

After installing a new Omada Network with a Gateway, switches and 4 x EAP610 APs, I have constant issue with 2 out of the APs initially negotiating to 1000MBPS but then going back to 100MBPS. If I try to manually override the port to 1000mbps it disconnects. All cables have no issues and have been tested and I have also tried the various additional troubleshooting steps ( rebooting all hardware, adding flow control etc. )

I have one of the 610s working perfectly at 1000MBPS and have even tried swapping ports for the working one and nothing works. I have seen common threads suggesting these are often cables issues, but this is not the case in this instance and nobody seems to be able to pinpoint this common issue.

Can anybody comment on how they may have solved this annoying issue?

Many Thanks

Hi @HeathL,

Even if the cable tests ok, it's probably the cable.  You have one working connection, so swap the AP and the switch port of the working connection with the bad ones.  If the link that fail always uses the same cable, it's a cable issue.

With a bad cable and/or poor terminations, the network connections can be inconsistent.  From what I've seen, once there's an issue with the connection, the auto negotiation process will attempt to connect at a lower speed but never attempts a higher speed until there's a complete disconnect/reconnect.

Often the problem is at the wire termination points and can be fixed without running a new wire.
