Model :

Hardware Version : Not Clear

Firmware Version :

ISP :

Model : Archer C9

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version : 4.0.0 Build 20150916 Rel. 37772

ISP Modem : ZyXel VDSL T874

Connection Type: PPoE

I've been using the router for a while, and i've noticed that sometimes the internet connection icon will turn orange and all connections will lose internet connection, but sometimes wireless will continue working while only wired will lose internet connection.
i can still access the control panel using 192.168.0.1 when the icon is orgrane.
When i contact my ISP, they say it's my router's problem, saying that there's no problem in their signal.
is there a fix or something? it happens randomly, and it's annoying, specially i'm i'm downloading or gaming online.

in the system log is says

Hi,
I experience the same problem as you described, loosing internet connection from 30 seconds to 1 minute, or sometimes I need to restart the router to make it work again.
Model : Archer C9
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 4.0.0 Build 20150916 Rel. 37772
Connection Type: PPPoE

Also when I try to ping google.com I get a lot of packet loss.
When I swapped this router with another one (TL-WDR3600), I did not get any disconnects and also when I try to ping google.com I do not get any packet loss.
So I am most sure that is something wrong with the router.

Dreaded Orange Internet Light

I'm having the same exact issue, except mine seems to only occur at night. Hundreds of "LED controller" errors, orange internet light, and continuous disconnects. Losing my patience with this thing.

I am also having this issue... No issues if I go back to my WRT54G, so the problem definitely lies on the C9. Like BFRedrocks it appears to get worse at night.

I have emailed support and referenced this thread... Has anyone else contacted support?

I was In contact with tech support via email for a few days and we tried some things, but ultimately it was not resolved as of yesterday. I will say that my tech support experience was really good from a contact standpoint, as they always responded the same day (1 per day because I think they are in China), but we weren't able to solve this issue.

I contacted support and the fixed they proposed solved the disconnection problems (the past 3 days have been without any disconnections).

The solution:
1. Go to the "Advanced" section/tab
2. Go to "Network -> Internet"
3. Click on "Advanced"
4, Set "Connection Mode: On Demand" and "Max Idle Time: 0"
5. Save

I have same issues than you, this "solution" doesnt work for me the only thing it does that the disconnections became more frequent but it reconnects automatically without router restart.
start to be pretty damn annoying.contacted the support too. cant really help me with anything so far.

Good to know...unfortunately I returned my C9 and replaced it with another brand. Hopefully the fix works out for you guys. I never had a problem with the C9 while it was connected, but losing connection every night with 4 teenagers in the house was too much for me to hold out for a solution.

probably found a solution!
i am currently testing it so not sure about it but the router default mtu is 1480 if your ISP uses less, then it can cause trouble with the connection.I am currently trying out with lower mtu.
(btw you can find it at advenced->network->internet->advanced)

Update: Doesn't work still disconnects

I can't see any of these choice under Advanced
I only have DNS and MTU

and MTU can only bee set between 576 and 1500

Am I in the right place?
