Use Deco app on two devices to manage same network
Having rebuilt my mesh network using an E4 hard wired into a Huawei modem, I want to access the network using the Deco app on my Samsung A15 phone, which has the latest Deco (Android) app version 3.10.8. I had set up the entire E4 mesh network using the Deco app installed on my Apple iPad (app version 3.10.23) which works fine. When trying to link the Android version to the network, it fails to find the network and appears to require a full reset of the Deco E4. Is there a way of joining an existing network using the same account credentials without having to restart the network?

@Lusitania You can use the same TP-LINK account on Android and iPad to access same Deco network on both devices.

@ARGamingPK1 That is what I am expecting, but the Android app refuses to connect to the Decos, even 'tho it is logged on to that wifi network.

@Lusitania yes you can use the same app on multiple devices including across platforms. However, I've found on Apple devices it auto selects rotating IP addresses called "private WI-FI address" not sure what it's called on android off hand.
So when connecting using the app on other devices you may meed to turn this off and have a "fixed" address.
Additionally I've found that sometimes if you have 2.4G, 5G or even 6G running on your network or even multiple mesh/routers/APs you have one device connected to one and another connected elsewhere. Often I find disconnecting and reconnecting in the same room helps.
good luck

@dpartonginno Thank you for the suggestion. I have looked for references of managing "private" and "fixed" addresses on the settings for the iPa and the Android phone, also on the Deco app, without success. Can you give me ideas of where to look? I should say that both the iPad and the Samsung phone also have the TP-Link Tapo app running OK, controlling a number of smart plugs, etc. on this same wi-fi network.

On Samsung Android phones, the Private Wi-Fi address setting (Samsung sometimes calls this Randomised MAC address) is found per network, not in a single global menu.
Here’s how to locate it:
For a connected Wi-Fi network
- Settings
- Connections
- Wi-Fi
- Tap the gear icon (⚙️) next to the connected network
- Tap View more or Advanced (wording varies by One UI version)
- Look for MAC address type or Privacy
- Select:
- Randomised MAC → Private Wi-Fi address ON
- Phone MAC → Private Wi-Fi address OFF
-
Set MAC address type
- Randomised MAC or Phone MAC
On an iPad (iPadOS), Apple calls this Private Wi-Fi Address, and—like Samsung—it’s set per Wi-Fi network.
For a connected Wi-Fi network
- Settings
- Wi-Fi
- Tap the ⓘ (info icon) next to the connected network
- Toggle Private Wi-Fi Address
- ON → iPad uses a randomised (private) MAC address
- OFF → iPad uses its hardware MAC address
- If you change it, you may be prompted to Rejoin Network
Change these to fixed or off.
