Hello
I have an old Archer C7 v1. I am somewhere without internet, but i can use my smartphone and create a wifi network sharing its 4G connection. (wifi tethering on android)

I also have a desktop computer without any wifi antenna. I want to connect my PC with an ethernet cable to my Archer C7, and set my C7 up to connect to my Android phones tethering wifi.

I tried to use the "WDS" function on 2.4Ghz, and turning off DHCP on the C7. It doesnt work. I get no internet access, but i can connect to the Archer C7 configuration page if i set static IP on my PC.

On my phone, I can view the MAC of all units connected via WiFi. The Archer C7s MAC appears, but its status is always "acquiring IP address". My laptop connects to it just fine.

Is it possible to do what I want to do? Im stuck with the v1 version which seems inferiour as DD-wrt cannot be used on it...

It is possible only with alternative firmware on the router (open-wrt or gargoyle).
