Model: TL-SX3206HPP
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.20.14 Build 20251218

The Switch crashes once per week rendering it unaccessible via omada controller. Attached devices work partially. L3 Features stop working. Sometimes even the switch chip gets stalled leaving ports in unusable state. When a device is physically unplugged the Port LEDs stay on. Only solution is to powercycle the switch.

@Florian-T It seems like the switch is crashing. When did this issue start? Were there any changes to the network or new systems installed around that time (example being an NVR or security camera system)?

Is it possible to do a packet capture when the issue is occurring to see what traffic is being passed across the network when the issue occurs?

@NeilR_M it is hard to monitor this since it happens at random times. Today it happened at 4.27am. Last time it was 1.30am. The biggest problem is that I was not home or sleeping when it happened the last 2 times. The even more disturbing thing is that the EAPs still seem to be able to communicate to my controller as they are not marked offline when the switch is crashed. The chamge i did was replacing my main switch with a smaller one. I also organized my VLANs more thoroughly, but I do not suspect them to be my main issue except the switch can not handle to be in a different management VLAN other than 1?

Hi  @Florian-T

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

You could try to update your switch with the pre-release firmware 1.20.16 and see if the crash issue would resolved or not: https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/853170
