I am writing to request technical support for a speed issue I am experiencing with my ER605 router.

 

My current setup includes three WAN connections:

 

- WAN 1: 1000 Mbps

- WAN 2: 300 Mbps

- WAN 3: 100 Mbps

 

WAN 1 and WAN 2 are configured as primary WANs, while WAN 3 is set as a backup.

 

The issue is specific to WAN 1. When I connect my ISP modem directly to my computer, I consistently receive speeds between 900 and 950 Mbps. However, when I connect the same modem to the WAN 1 port of the ER605 and connect my computer to the ER605 LAN port, the speed drops to 600–650 Mbps.

 

To isolate the problem, I disconnected all switches and other devices during testing, but the speed remained capped at 650 Mbps. Please note that WAN 2 and WAN 3 are delivering their expected speeds; the throughput issue is exclusive to WAN 1.

 

Could you please assist me in troubleshooting why the ER605 is not delivering the full throughput of my WAN 1 connection?

Hi  @Vishlamba 

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

May I ask when you test the speed from WAN 1, did you disconnect the WAN 2and WAN 3?

If WAN 2 and WAN 3 both display the proper speed with the Internet bandwidth, did you try to connect the original WAN 1 modem to different WAN ports for test?

  @Vishlamba 

 

If you have DPI / Application Control enabled this will impact throughput significantly as every single packet is being examined by the DPI engine.  Otherwise, i have achieved full 1gig speeds through ER605 v2 easily in my tests

Thanks you are reply, Yes I did disconnect Wan 2 and Wan 3 before testing the speed, and No I haven't tried connecting the Wan 1 (my 1000mbps) connection on any other port yet. Thanks

Thanks for you reply, I did which off DPI for a whole day but that didn't make any difference, speed remained exactly the same with DPI On. But as per that logic If DPI was making the speed slow then my WAN 2 And WAN 3 also should have been effected, but to be honest my WAN 2 is also above 300Mbps, Like 320/350. Thanks
