Ring doorbell
Hi
I have just bought 3 pack of x55, 1 x50, and an outdoor x50 which is placed in my garage loft space the problem I have is even worth all of these my ring doorbell is still reporting a bad signal.
I have a unit in the living room, hall, front bedroom, garage loft space
Front door is at the side of my garage which is part of my house
Any ideas on how I can get a better signal I have tried everything even an ethernet to the garage deco still hasn't worked

If you don't mind doing a little beta testing we have a new feature called Deco Heatmap which would help you find the correct placement of your Deco's to help fix your connection issues
You can read more about it here

@Mechman what's the wifi signal like on your mobile phone when you go and place it next to the ring doorbell? If the phone has good signal then its probably the Doorbell needing to be on the slower but more reliable 2.4Ghz frequency
Try turning on the iOT wifi network in the deco app, setup the name you want to use and a password for that network. Then connect your phone to that network and then reset the ring Doorbell to connect to that SSID rather than your main wifi network.
More info on setting up an iot network on Devo here:

Hi thanks I have done all that still really poor on my doorbell,
I have placed the outdoor x50 in the garage loft close to the eaves, as close to the door bell as I can get it
I would say it's about 6 ft higher and maybe 7 to 8 ft to the right of it
I would have thought that would blast enough WiFi to it
The x50 is connected by ethernet as well

You could also try turning on the guest network and connecting the doorbell to it to see if that works or not

@Mechman you didn't mention what the wi-fi signal is like to your phone if you place it right next to the doorbell.
Do you get full bars? Or low signal.
What does your network layout in the Deco app look like?
Also you should be able to see the signal strength of the clients and what network they are on from the App, so the doorbell should show up there.
Maybe a few screenshots of the relevant Deco app screens will help to diagnose.

Hi thanks for taking the time to help
If I'm next to the doorbell with my phone I have full signal .
I have attached a screenshot of he x50 and the garage cam and door bell signal
In the ring app it's saying a rssi of 63 now for the door and 58 for the camera but this keeps altering
I just thought with all these units surely they would give a better signal to the doorbell

@Mechman looks pretty good from there. 62 RSSI is between "good" and "excellent"
If you are not having trouble actually viewing your videos live then I wouldn't worry.
Couple of questions/ideas:
- Are you actually having problems with your video feed from your Ring devices?
- What is your internet upload/download speed?
- Have you done a speed test on the Ring device?
- It could be Wi-Fi interference, try running the Network Optimization tool in Deco -> More
- You can turn off Mesh for the Ring device so it won't try and switch its signal to different Decos and also lock it to a specific Deco device (Clients - Ring Camera - Specified Connection & Mesh Technology - Off)
- Also most newer Ring doorbells (version 3, 4 or Pro) support Wi-Fi 5Ghz so you don't need to force it to iOT 2.4Ghz network, but if you have an older one then I would.
- Lastly the reason for RSSI differences between the camera and doorbell are probably because the camera has better Wi-Fi antennae in it.
Otherwise, I've installed many Ring Doorbells and cameras with Deco Wi-Fi network and I'd say you were in good shape unless you are actually having issues, then maybe some of the ideas above may help.
