Does the X50-5G and BE65-5G use same generation 5G chips? I am wondering if upgrading from X50-5G would likely bring any benefit when using n20/n28 channels under suboptimal ("good") signal levels, when using an external antenna? I am mostly experiencing ping/jitter issues while the bandwidth has been ok.

Unfortunately, i couldn't find specific information in our knowledgebase regarding the 5G chip generations used in different Deco models or direct comparisons of their performance under the conditions you described. @David-TP any idea if they both use the same 5G chips?

However, regarding external antenna optimization for your current X50-5G, I can share some guidance on verifying and improving external antenna performance:

Before and after adjusting your external antenna setup, you can check signal quality metrics in the Deco app by going to MORE > Internet and scrolling down to view readings like RSRP, RSRQ, and SNR. These are negative values where higher numbers indicate better signal (for example, -78dBm is better than -80dBm). This can help you determine if your current antenna configuration is optimal.

Make sure you have enabled the external antennas in the Deco app by going to MORE > External Antennas after properly installing them on your main Deco unit.

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1
