Model: EAP225-Outdoor   TL-MR100
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hello everyone,

I am working on a project in which I need to implement outdoor wireless network.

We have 2 locations only. Check the attached image file. Distance between 2 locations is 50-60 mtr.

At Location1: I am planning to use any GSM router because we don't have cable internet there.

At this location, we will have 1 or 2 Ethernet devices.

From this location, we need to connect LOCATION-2, so here, we are planning to place EAP225 Outdoor device.

(Because between these 2 location, there is a highway road, so we can not use any PtoP device  like CPE510 or CPE710)

At Location2: At this location, we have 1 Ethernet device which should be connected to the network of LOCATION-2.

Which outdoor device should I use here so that i can get connectivity to LOCATION-1?

Regards,

Sagar Patel

@Samarth_Engg If you mount the Point to Point devices high enough, will the highway be a problem still? I think if possible I would still recommend a PtP device over an omnidirectional outdoor AP unless there's too much interference in the middle.

Hello  @NeilR_M,

Today, I visisted the site and I can say that the actual distance is 20-25 mtr.

Main point is both the locations, there are only the shades, not concreat structure is available. That is why I am planning for Outdoor device.

Basically, I want 3 outdoor devices: 1 GSM router (for Internet), 2 Outdoor devices for 2 locations across the road.

Regards,

Sagar Patel

2 EAP225 Outdoor will mesh together over 25m.  I have a mesh link between EAP225 that is 100m and works fine at -73 to -77dBm.  Any tree or vegetation can immediately drop the signal.  In your case, Neil provided the answer to raise the device height so the pair has line of site OVER the traffic. You can use PtP bridge too.
