Hello. We have a private network (172.16.xx.xx) that we use for devices around the city.
In some places we use a cpe510, programmed as an AP, connected to this network at the end of an area.
Then we have several cpe510 (clients), which all point to this AP, to various devices. The devices get their IP number from our firewall.
We can then access the devices' GUI via VPN. The CPE510 is completely transparent and it has worked very well for many years.
However, we now have an area where the connection to the network is in the middle of the area.
We therefore need a network with an omnidirectional antenna. I thought that we could simply use an EAP225 instead of a CPE510 and
point the clients (cpe510) towards this AP instead.
It works as far as the devices are assigned the correct IP numbers (172.16.xx.xx).
So the devices have been connected to the correct network and the AP has some transparency and forwards the correct IP numbers.
But it is not possible to access their GUI. It is not even possible to ping the devices…

Does anyone know if it is possible to get this working?

Hi,@Olamel

Thank you for posting on our business forum.

We do not generally recommend pairing EAP225-Outdoor with CPE devices. CPE and EAP belong to two distinct product lines, so potential compatibility issues may occur between the two. In addition, EAP225-Outdoor is not designed as a dedicated point-to-point access point, but an outdoor-grade general WiFi access point.

Therefore, for the issue you are currently facing, we recommend replacing the EAP device with a CPE device, which will likely resolve the problem you encountered. Thank you for your understanding.
