Disable 2FA
Wednesday

Hi Team,

A few months back I enabled 2FA for my Omada TP-Link login. Now, I lost my authenticator APP where i supposed to get 2FA code. Now am trying to login with the same password and passowrd to login in to omada. It is asking for 2FA code.
Here, there is no option to disable/turnoff 2FA before login.
I have my login credentials and able to change password from omada TP-Link login portal.
please assist here to sort it out.

Please see the workaround steps below.

1. Install an Omada Software Controller on a computer.
2. Create a local administrator account for the Software Controller.
3. Enable Cloud Access on the Software Controller.
4. Create a new TP-Link ID using an alternate email address. You can also create one with your existing email address by adding "+omada" to your existing email (Example: name+omada@email.com)
5. Bind the newly created TP-Link ID to the Software Controller.
6. Accept the controller invitation from your email account.
7. Log in to the Software Controller using the newly created TP-Link ID.
8. Enter the account password when prompted.
9. From the Software Controller, invite the original TP-Link ID that is currently having the 2FA issue.
10. Accept the invitation from the original TP-Link ID account.
11. After the invitation is accepted, log in locally to the Software Controller web interface using the original TP-Link ID.
12. When the 2FA prompt appears, select the option to reset 2FA.

You should be able to reset your 2FA using this workaround.

Re:Disable 2FA

  @NeilR_M Oh my!

Is there any plan to add biometrical authentication method as MFA (e.g. Touch ID/Face ID)? Currently, there is choice between app and email only, but I don't want to use email as a second method for security sake.

Plus, could you please add Enter press as MFA code confirmation action? Currently, I need to click on Confirm button and find it very unergonomic.

@KrispPL I don't believe there were any plans to use Touch/Face ID as a second authentication method, but both of these are valid suggestions that I recommend putting in the Requests and Suggestions Module here on the forum.
