I just bought Archer C2600 as I replacement for my D-Link DIR-826L(300/300 mbps). I have 3 wireless camera's around the house and the connections seemed poor to me. I use this routers as accesspoints. Now that I powered up the C2600 along side the D-Link, I notice the signal of D-Link is much stronger. How is this possible??? I would guess this new C2600-router(800/1800mbps) would blow the D-link away!! I am very disappointed !! Am I doing something wrong here? Anyone?

I used to run an ASUS RT-AC66U but decided to upgrade to a new router for better coverage. I tried a ASUS RT-AC3200, RT-AC87U, Netgear R7000, R7800 and R8000. Some had better coverage and slight speed increase over the RT-AC66U....but nothing substantial.....it had more to do about placement. I then tried a C2600 because it was on sale and found it equal to all the others....but it was far more stable. I ended up using a powerline kit to place the old RT-AC66U as an AP to get better coverage.
Bottom line....radio power is maxed, at least in the US and there is no real difference in coverage. It all comes down to placement, channel choice etc.

My "comprehensive" reviews of several good TP-LINK Range Extenders are posted on Amazon.

What's the distance between the router and your cameras?
As a comparison, you can try to connect other devices such as a laptop or smartphone to the wifi of the router, then check if the devices get full signal bar and run a speedtest (speedtest.net) .

I have a Archer C3150 and the broadcast range is more limited than my old ASUS RT-N66U. I still love my C3150.

It seems that the max wireless transmission power is limited by FCC (
Federal Communications Commission) / CE (Conformit Europeenne) regulations.
So it doesn't mean that a high-end will have much more wireless power than a low-end one.
As what I know, a high-end router usually has higher wireless speed, more stable performance and can handle more devices. Also it adopts some advanced features such as MU-MIMO technology.
Don't know if this will help you.
