Hi all,
I have an AC1750 model and, for security reasons, I activated MAC Filtering on both wifi networks (2.4 and 5 Ghz).
I'd like to activate a guest network but, after many tests, I realize that if I want to connect a new temporary device I must define it in the mac filtering white list.

Is there is the way to activate both the possibilities: MAC filtering for the standard networks and no-mac filtering for the guest networks?

Thanks a lot

Claudio

I don't think so. That would defeat the purpose of the MAC filter.

Requiring guests to be added to the MAC filtering also defeats the purpose of the guest network. It's kind of a vicious circle of security versus convenience. Perhaps, TP-Link should give us the choice.

Well MAC filtering is useless for security anyway. Can be hacked in 5 minuets.

Regardless the ease of hacking it, I would still like the option of whether of not the Guest Wi-Fi is restricted by MAC filtering.

@stevehackett

Has there been a solution to this?
I would like know if we can have a way to configure

  1. A way to have MAC filtering on normal network
  2. A way to allow people onto as Guest and not have to Admin the Router.

Thanks in advance.
