Hi all,

I've tried to update the firmware to V1_160707 on my new Archer C3150, the router started the process and stopped responding. Now it seems to be bricked:

- On power on only power, WPS (white) and Internet (red) leds are on.
- device doesn't seem to boot properly. No wifi, no change in leds
- reset button doesn't so anything.

How do I unbrick it? I am very technical, can do low lever network stuff and some coding if necessary.

Is your C3150 US or EU hardware? V1_160707 is a US FW.

I would imagine that there is an emergency bootloader on the router. I have used WinSCP/Putty to SSH into another brand's router to re-initiate the emergency bootloader. Someone from customer support should be able to help. Let them know that you feel comfortable using software like putty and WinSCP to telnet or ssh into it. I see in the firmware the 'local management' setting where you can specify a port.

Are you able to get into the router from your browser via 192.168.0.1?

Mine is US version, so the firmware version is correct.

I am very technical, but the router doesn't boot to the stage when it is visible via network.
