The Tether app allows you to select client type, but the selection is very limited. I should be able to specify my own text. I have Philips hue (lamps), Apple TV, wireless speakers, that are specified as unknown and I can't change them to what they are. Why is this?

I just tried. You can define any device name you want I think.
For example, just select TV as the type of your apple TV. Then manually define the name of the TV as "Apple TV".
However, it seems only take effects on Tether.

Yes, I see that now, but would be nice to be able to change the symbols.
