What is the difference between hardware versions for Archer C5400?

Model : Archer C5400

Hardware Version :

Firmware Version : 1.0.0 20160727 - 53254

ISP :

I own a Archer C5400 (Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 20160727 Rel. 53254(EU) Hardware Version: ArcherC5400 v1.0) and was wondering why I got one with hardware version 1 when there was also already a hardware version 2. (NB I bought it in december 2016 in The Netherlands.)

Also, I don't see any firmware updates for the V1, while there is one for the V2.

And also, I would like to have an easier Access Point/Bridge mode function which retains complete internet access for the C5400.

Kind regards, Casper

I also just bought an Archer C5400 this month (April 2017) in Thailand and received a v1 not a v2.
I'm not sure what exactly are the hardware differences.

I am also having this problem. I just gave it an address on the same LAN and disabled the DHCP server in order to use it as access point. This works fine the only problem is with no WAN the unit itself can't access the internet for purposes of network time or firmware update checking.

the V2 of the Archer C5400. HomeCare offers built-in antivirus control from Trend Micro along with parental controls and integration with Amazon Alexa.

@cgroenen

Isn't the point for these questions more about "Is the Archer C5400 v1 highly vulnerable to attack if used as a router in your home"?   The question doesn't exactly address the possible vulnerabilities that may be out for the v1 (and v2) but it questions the availability of more recent firmware that would address potential vulnerabilities.
