TL-WR841N Network Issues

I have an existing router Model TL-WR841N Version 8.4
We have been experiencing some issues with the Router however we only wish to use it as an Ethernet Switch
To do this do I simply turn off WiFi on the rear of the unit.
The problems that we have been having is that we have a main router on site for our network however all of our systems keep remapping the IP address for each machine on the network to this router therefore I am suspecting that if I disable the WiFi by turning it off on switch on the rear of the unit then this issue will be resolved and the unit will then only function as an Ethernet switch only.
Please can you confirm my assumptions are correct
