Archer C7 AC1750 Double natting - please verify my solution...

Good day!
I have a Archer C7 AC1750 router. My original configuration (with full knowledge that double NATting was going on) was to have my router plugged into an ethernet port of an ARRIS gateway provided by my ISP, Eastlink. The ARRIS gateway is part of a MOCA setup with two set-top boxes for my TVs for PVR access to the two TVs. Everything worked fine for my internet setup, even with double NATting going on.
However, to accommodate an increase in internet speed from 150 Mbps to 300 Mbps service, the ISP provided a tandem modem (ARRIS DG3270, no user manuals seem to be available) that has coax connectivity as well as ethernet connectivity to both the gateway and the set-top box nearest it. Again, I figured I would live with double NATting and plugged my router into the tandem modem.
I have not ruled out that the tandem modem is wonky, and I have a service call in for later this week to investigate, but I figured I would take double NATting off the table as a possible culprit because the tandem modem occasionally reboots, knocking internet connectivity offline. This seems to coincide with Bittorrent use. So, I set off to take care of the double-NATting.
On the tandem modem, I logged into the web interface (192.168.0.1), and adjusted the DHCP IP address range to 192.168.0.2 through 192.168.0.150. I created a DHCP reservation for the Archer C7 at 192.168.0.151. I then put 192.168.0.151 into the tandem modem's DMZ.
I'm not sure why, but when I logged into the web interface of the Archer C7, I expected to see a public WAN IP assigned (as the Archer C7 should then be facing the internet through the DMZ), but the WAN IP is 192.168.0.151, which is the IP I reserved on the tandem modem. After a little more thought, this makes sense that it's showing the WAN IP address I reserved, but I'm not 100% convinced that I've done this right.
Can someone verify my steps, and perhaps enlighten me on how to prove I've taken double NATting off the table (and thus also eliminated it as the cause for the modem reboots)?
Thanks!
P.S. I cannot place the tandem modem into bridge mode, as unchecking "enable routing" on the basic setup tab also kills the TV functionality. Already tried that.
