Hi,
I opened port 22 on my Archer C7 in the virtual servers menu and it was accessible from the web as expected.
However, I now deleted the open port rule and the port is STILL open.

I tried rebooting the router but this hasn't changed the situation. Port 22 is still open!

May I know which device did you open the port 22 for?
And how do you know that port 22 is still opened for that device?

The device is a Archer C7 router (Firmware Version: 3.15.1 Build 160719 Rel.57530n, Hardware Version:Archer C7 v2 00000000) to allow a server to be accessed from the WAN
The method used to check the state of port 22 is the help of a trusted friend who connected successfully to my server from the outside even after having deleted the virtual server rule. I also tested it with the port testing utility at GRC.com (Shieldsup! page, button proceed, then "common ports")

The only way I managed to close it was by resetting the router to factory.
