Around 3 years ago I purchased the TD-W8970 v1 modem router and never had any issues with it. Very stable machine, I couldn't have ask for more.


However, recently it has started freezing from time to time. Around once a week. It drops internet connection and all the lights at the frond light up. I have to fiscally disconnect and reconnect the power to rest itself.
I had a look online to see if there is a new firmware out from TP-Link but I am not 100% sure if I am looking at the right place.firmware. See bellow.
My TD-8970 v1 has 3 antennas and has the 0.6.0 2.12 v000c.0 Build 140613 Rel.31066n firmware. See bellow.

It seems to be 3 years old.


Could I use the firmware from the TD-W8970B from here http://www.tp-link.gr/download/TD-W8970B.html#Firmware
It seems to be newer TD-W8970B_V1_150526


What is the difference between TD-W8970 and TD-W8970B
