T6E AC1300: 2.4GHz WiFi won't work without FIPS enabled

Hi.
My Archer T6E AC1300 WiFi adapter has major packet loss issues when connecting to any 2.4GHz network using WPA2 (both Personal and Enterprise) encryption. Packet loss ranges from between 80-100%, effectively making me unable to use the band. The only way I can functionally use 2.4GHz WiFi is by enabling FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard) which reduces security and speed.
In comparison the 5GHz works flawlessly, however due to range I'm needing the 2.4GHz.
Does anyone know of any way to solve this issue? Is it possible my Adapter is faulty?
Thanks
