M7300 - Unable to connect to multiplayer games for Nintendo

Hello I have a M7300(EU) v2.0 that seems to be giving me troubles in connecting to a multiplayer game (Monster Hunter Generations) on my Nintendo 3DS.
Every time I try to join a room, it gives me an error code 006-0612 which is similar to this case here .
I've tried changing the DNS on my M7300 but to no avail.
However, when I tried connecting through my iPhone's hotspot, the game works fine and I did not get the error code even once.
The error only happens with my M7300 which led me to believe that the modem might be the culprit here.
Any help?
