Archer C7 V2.0 performs Factory Reset by itself
Model : Archer C7
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version : 3.15.1 Build 160616 Rel.44182n
ISP : Telekom
Hi All!
I have an Archer C7 (HW version 2.0) that has been working in the past 1,5 years without any issues at all.
My problem began a few weeks ago: I noticed that I can't see my WiFi network, so I connected with a UTP cable.
The first surprise was that I could not login with my own username/password via the web GUI, so I tried the default admin/admin, and it worked.
After logging in I realized that ALL settings were set to factory default. ISP settings, wifi settings, LAN IP settings, the router performed a complete factory reset by itself.
OK, it might happen one time, I did a HW reset, just to make sure everything is really back to factory defaults, then made the configuration manually again from scratch.
I also saved my settings to a backup file just in case.
Unfortunately it was needed later, since it happened 2 more times just during last week. After restoring the saved configuration the router works again.
I also downloaded the latest firmware available (that is the same that I already had on my router), reflashed it, but the problem still reoccurred today.
I did not change anything in my network infrastructure since a long time, so it can't be some kind of incompability (and BTW this happens when I'm away from home, and all appliances are turned off)
Did someone experience similar issues with this router?
Cheers,
kogabe
