hello,

is there way to find out what settings are used to generate the openvpn certificate when you press the generate certificate on the archer c2300 router? like if the certificate is using 256 aes ecryption/ 1024 or 2048 key size. It would have been nice to be able to
set these settings yourself, currently there's no way of telling what settings are used to generate the certificate or is there a way of finding out?

Thanks.

It's 128 AES, cannot be changed.

will the openvpn feature eventually support adding users, or even the ability of using some type of user\password authentication in combination with the generated certificate? Instead of just accepting the generated certificate without any password authentication and granting access. which is how it currently works.

Thanks.

Not now, maybe in the next firmware if they add it, if there are enough demands

Hopefully the full openvpn features get implemented in an firmware update. currently if you have multiple users connected to the vpn, there's no way of telling who's connected to your server, since
there's no type of user/password authentication at all and all you can see is the assigned ip from the open vpn server.

Its almost a year later since you posted this and even on firmware version 2.0 it is not implemented. I just came from a short lived ownership of ASUS Router and it had an option to set a User id and password, but this TPLink router does not give that option. Feels kind of insecure.

@fury Agreed, OpenVPN needs to be updated. My TunnelBlink application says that TP-Link's OpenVPN Server Version won't be supported in the future, even on the latest firmware released this week on my Archer A7 V5, FW 1.0.14:

@uutommi Hi, I have a Archer Ax50 and set up the OPENVPN and it works perfect, but I would like to know if it is secure enough due to the lack o user/password, I am new in the VPN settings.

Thank you
