Hi all,
Looking for some guidance on what may be happening with my router.
I've an Archer C7, v2, running f/w 3.14.3 Build 150520 Rel.44934n, located in Canada.
This was a replacement by tp-link as my prior router failed also.
My 2.4ghz seems to be very patchy, devices will connect however trying to use internet while on 2.4ghz becomes unbearable, either becomes very slow or just degrades to unusable. i then have to switch to my 5ghz and its totally fine.
Should I be updating firmware or what can I do to fix this issue?
thanks in advance

you may try to change wifi channel on 2.4G, if it doesn't help, firmware update is necessary

Hi, changed channel and that didnt help.
Just upgraded firmware to 3.15.1 Build 161031 Rel.40163n and it's still patchy.
A colleague said it could be an issue with the firmware + what device is being used with it and would need beta firmware. Is this true?

I don't really think it's beta firmware. Which channel you tired? Maybe you can download an app called wifi analyzer so you can detect the wifi networks around you and find out a free channel to change
