I have bought a new Archer VR2800 router about 3 weeks ago, which drops its internet connection multiple times a day for approximately 5 mins or so (length of time seems to vary). However, all the wifi and Lan connections remain up and working. It's only the actual internet that is down. The DSL line is up the whole time. The logs show nothing helpful and no errors present. If I remote into the webpage interface of the router (either wirelessly or Lan connection) I can get into it just fine, but where it shows the internet status it just says 'disconnected'. If I leave the router for 5 mins or so, the internet connection reconnects on its own with no intervention. If I restart the router it will also come back.
Raised a support case with TP-Link, who so far told me to switch off "Bit swap" in advanced settings. This did not work. Waiting to hear for something else to try.
I suspect though, that my router is simply defective and needs replacing.
Anyone else having these issues?
My old ISP router has none of these issues whatsoever, so It's not the DSL line.

OK - progress. AMAZON replaced it for me under warranty, and so far fingers crossed its working well. No dropouts, better download and upload speeds than i had before (4Mb/s compared to 3.4Mbps on the PlusNet router), and a newer UI - now has speed monitor on the home page, although the speed test doesnt work (as noted by other users).
Will post back if more issues but it looks like new hardware (or firmware) has solved it, maybe.....

Day 3 and the issue is back, exactly the same with the new device. First day or two seemed perfect, up to 4MBPs. But as of today its disconnecting regularly, sometimes for a few minutes. Repeats over and over.
The cr@ppy free plusnet router works, so i dont think its the phone line. I live in a remote location so about 5km from the exchange hence the slow broadband, maybe these things just cant cope with poor line quality.
If i cant get it stable i am going to have to give up, or use the plusnet as the router and the TPLINK for DHCP and WIFI and management tools. hmmm...

In the Advanced DSL Settings have you tried to enable Bit Swap and SRA?

Where are the "
advanced DSL settings"?
[I]The only reference I can find to DSL is under QoS --> Settings --> Line type "DSL or Other".

Thats odd, the option is there for me .. same HW and same FW... (image attached).
In your place, I would factory reset, and then follow "Quick Setup".
