Modifications and Bug Fixes
Bug Fixed
1. Fixed the WPA2 Security (KRACKs) Vulnerability.
2. Fixed the bug in resolving some specific domains when the router works as DNS server.
New Features/Enhancement
1. Added SMBv2 support in the USB sharing.
2. Improved router's performance on the 2.4G wireless network.
Please can TP-LINK make available firmware update for UNiversal version.

assuming your C7 is the Version 2 ? the UK file linked above , is also for the EU I believe but you need to make sure ......however the Filename suggests it is a EU version.....

I would email your Country's TP Support and ask them about the File above....

Version 16 Official Also has this Issue but Version 17 Beta linked above does not , I ran it for several Months without a single Reboot....

Yes Beta 17 is better for me , I wanted Version 18 for Krack and SMBv2 for a USB Drive I use for Network Backups , but I am having to Reboot the C7 Router each Day to make sure it doesn't "stall" while downloading Webpages etc.
I have email TP-Link and told them the Version 18 is not as good as Version 17 , so hopefully I will get a reply this week.

Beta Firmware allows Downgrading but some FULL Versions DO NOT
Version 17 Beta and Version 18 Beta don't even require resetting anything, the config is saved and reused (thankfully) , so all my Network Settings , DHCP Reservations etc were still there.
After the Firmware Upgrade ( or downgrade ) I always turn the Router off , let it sit for a minute or two and turn it back on....
I am back on Beta17 at the moment as a Test , in case it is my ISP having Issues and not Firmware 18.
