TL-WPA8630 - building a robust wifi network

Hi,
I've got 2 * TL-WPA8630 wifi units connected to a TL-PA8010 powerline adapter.
Problem is that one of the TL-WPA8630 is located through a sub-db board, so the powerline signal is not stable. Sometimes green, sometimes red.
With the technology we have today, can the TL-WPA8630 use wifi range extender or wifi mesh technology as fall-back strategy?
