TL-WN821N Is Not Able to Connect to the Internet

The TL-WN821N adapter is unable to connect to the internet even though it is already being detected properly by the PC. My OS is a Windows 8.1 and I downloaded the driver online, I think the main problem is the driver I downloaded which is for a v4 adapter and that the USB hardware was incompatible with the v4 driver since it was a v6. I downloaded the v4 driver because I wasn't able to see any v6 or v5 driver downloads and because I don't have a disk reader in my PC to use the installation disk. It would be nice if someone is to help me find a solution for this.
